PSU Conference on Integrated Learning

I won't be in the classroom from November 2nd to the 4th, which caused me a little stress last week because I had to create three days of bullet proof lesson plans for a substitute teacher. Despite my anxiety, the conference has been interesting so far. Yesterday I attended a conference about nanotechnology--an area of science that is virtually foreign to me. However, I left the hour long session with a better understanding of the careers available to students who choose to study nanotechnology. I did not realize that the field of forensics has a need for nanotechnologists. Athletic gear and garb is often created and tested by nanotechnologists. Besides the blogging session I'm attending now, yesterday afternoon's science session was definitely the most interesting.
